You could soon take liquids back through airport security thanks to a California university. The Department of Homeland Security has enlisted the help of U.C. Davis scientists according to the Sacramento Bee.
The DHS wants the scientists to revamp scanner technology that was originally developed to determine if wine had turned to vinegar.
The new technology would allow airport security to tell shampoo from explosives.
If the change works, you could be able to carry full bottles of water, large tubes of toothpaste and other things through airport security.
The DHS is funding the project.
