Driver Fights CHP Officers in DUI Stop

After several minutes, one officer was able to use his taser and get the suspect into cuffs

CHP officers who stopped a man suspected of driving under the influence struggled with the driver and then used a taser on him before taking him into custody.

The two officers stopped a White Honda Prelude on northbound Interstate 805 near Home Avenue just after midnight Wednesday.

Michael Littlejohn-Carroll, 27, was told he was about to be arrested for driving under the influence when officers said he became combative.

Littlejohn-Carroll fought both officers and the struggle lasted for several minutes and ended up on the ground officials said.

That’s when one officer was able to use his taser on the suspect and get him into cuffs.

Littlejohn-Carroll was transported to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure.

Both CHP officers suffered minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.
