Chase Bank in Mission Valley beefed-up security for the Robin Hood rally on Tuesday morning.
A security guard told NBC 7 he was hired to guard the outside of the bank to make sure nothing happened.
Geri Jenkins, RN, joined nearly a dozen other nurses at the bank on the 5100 block of Mission Center Road in Mission Valley. Jenkins said they want a Robin Hood tax enforced.
From 1914 to 1966, the U.S. raised taxes on all sales or transfers of stocks. Many said this benefitted the middle-class. Other countries have already adopted this policy.
The Medicare for All Tour began in San Diego today. After nearly two dozen stops, the protests will conclude in Anaheim on July 12.
This afternoon, at St. Paul's Cathedral, there will be health screenings from 3 to 6 p.m. Then, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. this evening, there will be a health care Town Hall at 2728 6th Ave.
According to California Nurses Association and National Nurses United, local statistics show great need for health care overhaul. They say 22 percent of adults are uninsured and 13 percent are unable to see a doctor due to cost.
The California Nurses Association says celebrities such as Mark Ruffalo, and international leaders such as Desmond Tutu, are joining in this global effort, too.
