Burglar Wanted for Stealing Safe From Clairemont Home: SDPD

A reward is being offered for anyone who leads police to a man wanted for entering a Clairemont home through a bedroom window and stealing a safe.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, forced his way into the home on Mt. Everest Boulevard near Balboa Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. on May 21, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) said. No one was home at the time.

He took off with the resident's safe, which had legal documents, an unspecified amount of cash and his passport inside, SDPD said.

Surveillance cameras captured a photo of the suspect, who was wearing a gray hooded sweater with a red logo, blue jeans and sneakers at the time of the burglary, police said.

Anyone who helped lead SDPD to an arrest could be eligible for a $1,000 reward from San Diego County Crime Stoppers. Tipsters should call SDPD’s Northern Division at (858) 552-1733 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
