Brush Fire Controlled off I-15

A brush fire sparked in a field off northbound Interstate 15 Sunday near Tierrasanta.

According to authorities, the fire was burning vegetation south of Aero Drive at a moderate rate at 12:30 p.m.

By 1:15 p.m., fire crews said they had the fire 60-percent contained and were calling another strike team to the scene.

Following the fire, CHP said the third and fourth lanes of northbound I-15 were closed just north of Friars Road.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
