A brush fire burned along northbound Interstate 15 at Friars Road in Mission Valley Tuesday.
The 2.5-acre fire broke out around 2 p.m. according to San Diego Fire Rescue.
The presence of fire trucks along the highway prompted some slowing for northbound drivers.
There were five to seven fire trucks along the highway with two engines parked near the edge of the canyon next to the large La Mirage apartment complex.
Firefighters said lane #5 was closed on the northbound I-15 for a while to help firefighters pull hoses and other equipment.
No one was injured.
No cause was identified.
