Crews reached full containment Thursday evening on the 59-acre Agua Fire that erupted along State Route 76 near Pala on Tuesday.
It sparked at around 3 p.m. Tuesday and grew to about 50 acres by late afternoon. GPS mapping technology estimated the fire had scorched 59 acres of land, according to Cal Fire San Diego.
The fire's forward progress had been stopped at 5 p.m. Tuesday and firefighters worked overnight for two straight nights to extinguish the blaze.
Winds were not a huge factor in firefighting efforts according to NBC 7 meteorologist Dagmar Midcap.
"You're just seeing [wind speeds] in the breezy, single digits," Midcap added.
Four homes were threatened and two homes were briefly evacuated during the fire, Cal Fire officials said.

The fire started near the river bottom on an avocado and orange ranch and was only two-thirds of a mile from Pala Casino, according to officials.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause. No injuries have been reported.
