A brush fire was extinguished in Jamacha Thursday night, according to officials.
The flames were seen around 6:45 p.m. near 8200-block of Jamacha Road. Officials said the fire was in a canyon and spreading east near homes. But firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze once it reached 3 acres.
Police evacuated the homes as a precaution while firefighters put out the flames.
