Firefighters were quick to put out a brush fire in Escondido, according to officials.
The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Via Rancho Pkwy. and Beethoven Dr. near Lake Hodges.
The blaze was burning in front of the Sonata housing development, across from Kit Carson Park where several girls were having a softball tournament.
Via Rancho was closed in both directions for brief amount of time.

No one was hurt.
No word on what caused the fire.
