Fire crews quickly tackled a small brush fire that burned near Qualcomm Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Officials said the fire sparked just after 2 p.m. on a patch of vegetation on Friars Road near the stadium (see photo below). Smoke could be seen near the Qualcomm Stadium trolley stop, witnesses told NBC 7.
One viewer reported seeing white smoke coming from the area southeast of the stadium.
No structures were threatened by the small fire. Crews were able to knock it out quickly.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Check back for updates.
