A brush fire burning near Fallbrook stalled traffic on southbound Interstate 15 Monday.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. near I-15 between Gopher Canyon Road and Deer Springs Road.
More than 10 fire engines responded to the scene and aerial units were seen making fire retardant drops on the flames. A helicopter was also seen gathering water from a nearby golf course so it could make water drops.
Firefighters surrounded the blaze at 12 acres. Three of the four southbound lanes on I-15 have since reopened.
