Brush Fire Burning in San Ysidro

The fire burned in a canyon behind San Ysidro High School

Crews rushed to extinguish a brush fire burning near the U.S. Mexico border Thursday morning.

The fire, reported at 10 a.m., burned in a canyon behind San Ysidro High School along Airway Drive.

San Diego Fire and Rescue said the high school was not evacuated.

As of 11 a.m., the fire was said to be extinguished.
