Border Patrol Finds 1,000-Plus Pot Plants

Agents uncovered a pair marijuana growing operations in remote North County during the last week.

Officials said the agents discovered 95 mature plants Tuesday near the community of Rainbow while agents were patrolling about 1 mile west of Interstate 15.

It was the second find in a week for the Border Patrol, according to officials. Last Thursday, agents stumbled upon another growing operation. Officials said 930 plants were found in a 5-acre area near Bonsall, also about 1 mile west of I-15. All of the plants were turned over to a multi-agency task force.

Nobody was arrested in either incident.
