Border Patrol Agent Knocked Off Horse

The U.S. Border Patrol agent was sent to the hospital with serious injuries

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent was hospitalized after suffering serious injuries while on horseback.

The agent was knocked off his horse near the U.S. Mexico border around 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Apparently the agent hit his head on a tree branch.

It’s not known how fast the horse was going at the time of the injury.

Officials say the agent -- who has not been identified at this time -- was airlifted to UC San Diego hospital.
