Border Patrol agents have discovered more than $2 million worth of cocaine hidden in the fuel tank of a sport utility vehicle pulled over in Temecula.
The 21-year-old driver of the Ford Explorer is in jail.
Border Patrol agent Mark Endicott says an agent spotted the SUV with Baja California plates Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 15.
A drug-sniffing dog at the Border Patrol checkpoint located the cocaine and agents recovered 25 packages of the drug from a hidden compartment in the fuel tank.
The compartment was accessible through a trap door under the rear seat.
The destination of the drug runner wasn't known.
