A body was discovered at the bottom of the pool in a historic North Park hotel early Friday morning, police said.
San Diego police were called to the scene in the 2200 block of El Cajon Boulevard just after 6 a.m. Friday, according to a department spokesperson.
A hotel employee discovered the body, which police say is that of a 53-year-old man. They do not believe any foul play is involved.
The medical examiner is responding to the scene.
Police say the man is a transient who frequents the area.
The 131-room hotel was built in 1946 and is a popular destination for both tourists and locals.
