Police have found a body while responding to a brush fire in Chula Vista.
Chula Vista Police and Fire officials responded to a fire at C Street and Broadway Sunday evening at approximately 9:03 p.m.
Officials said they found a body in the fire at a river bottom.
The fire spread to half an acre before crews got it under control, they said. Officers at the scene said when they arrived, transients were in the area.
Police say the scene is an active crime scene investigation.
Police did not know whether the body was a male or female.
