‘Bird Rock Bandit' Arrested for Battery

Officers took Eric House into custody last night at his girlfriend's apartment in Pacific Beach

A member of the so-called "Bird Rock Bandits" was arrested Sunday, and now faces battery charges, police said.

San Diego Police Officers took Eric House into custody Sunday night at his girlfriend's apartment in Pacific Beach, a department spokesperson said.

They arrested him for battery and booked him into central jail shortly before 11 Sunday night. By Monday afternoon, House was released on bail.

Back in 2007, House was sentenced to probation for his involvement in the 2007 beating death of 24-year-old La Jolla surfer Emery Kauanui, Jr.

A court ruled in 2008 that Seth Cravens dealt the fatal blow that killed Kauanui Jr.

House, along with two other men pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. House violated his probation and received three years in prison.

House is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
