A bicyclist was injured when he lost control and crashed into a car Sunday according to La Mesa police.
Emergency crews responded to the incident near 70th Street and Alvarado Road just south of Interstate 8.
Officers say the bicyclist was traveling at a high speed and was unable to stop at a red light.
He crashed into an SUV, sliding under the vehicle officials said.
Emergency crews bandaged up the man’s head injuries before transporting him to a nearby hospital.
Officers say the bicyclist’s injuries were not life-threatening.
