80-Year Old Man Injured in La Mesa Crash

At least two people, including an 80-year old man, suffered injuries in a crash in La Mesa Thursday night, according to the Heartland Fire Department.

The crash, involving two vehicles, happened at approximately 8:52 p.m. on Fletcher Parkway and Jackson Drive. 

Officials say at least the elderly man was a passenger in one of the vehicles. He broke his femur during the collision and was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital.

His injuries were considered to be serious. Another person was also hurt in the crash.

Police told NBC 7 that they do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

La Mesa Police issued a traffic advisory around 9:19 p.m., warning motorists to avoid Fletcher Parkway and Jackson Drive.

No other information was immediately available.
