2 Arrests in Series of Armed Robberies

Officials credit an alert San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputy for catching suspects wanted in a series of armed robberies in the North County.

Six robberies happened between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. in Vista, San Marcos and Oceanside.

A deputy noticed a vehicle matching the description from other robberies while investigating the report of a robbery at the AM/PM Mart on S Santa Fe Avenue, south of Civic Center Drive and east of State Route 78.

The truck’s driver refused to pull over so the deputy began a pursuit.

A short distance later, the truck stopped and two people inside were arrested on multiple charges, officials said.

A gun and property belonging to one of the victims was found inside the vehicle, according to deputies.

Deputies are also helping Oceanside police to see if these two suspect are also connected to a pedestrian who was robbed gun point in their area.
