76-Year-Old Walks a Fine Line

Frieda Daniels took her first steps across a high wire at age 5, the North County Times reported.

More than 70 years later and half a world away, she is still walking a wire ---- not in front of an audience, but for herself, in the backyard of her Wine Country home east of Temecula, the paper reported.

Daniels, 77, was born in Germany, one of 11 children in a family of acrobats and stage actors. As a child, she traveled with her family around Europe, performing.

These days, she helps out with a business owned by three of her children, Cafe Daniel in Old Town. She has 10 grandchildren.
