San Diego County health officials say five students at a Chula Vista elementary school have been diagnosed with chicken pox.
The county Health and Human Services Agency says none of the infected students at Kellogg Elementary School required hospitalization.
Staff and the parents of children who may have been exposed were notified.
The highly contagious disease is easily spread by coughing, sneezing or contact with the blisters that accompany the infection.
