4 Men Tackle Residents, Snatch Helmet Signed by LT

A Fallbrook resident was hospitalized Thursday with a head injury after four men barged into a home and ordered everyone inside to the ground while they took a safe and a helmet autographed by a professional football player, authorities said.

The home invasion robbery in the 3500 block of Alta Vista Dr. was reported around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, said San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Amy Brown.

Two of the three people home at the time of the robbery were struck in the head while on the ground, Brown said, adding that one was taken to Palomar Medical Center for a head injury.

One of the four suspects was armed with a gun but no shots were fired, according to Brown.

"The suspects appeared to know what they were looking for and took a safe and a signed LaDainian Tomlinson football helmet," Brown said.
