4 Injured After Car Crashes Through Santee Construction Site

Four people were left critically injured after a car crashed through a Santee construction site, hitting concrete barriers and eventually smashing into a concrete box, officials said.

The crash happened at 1:14 a.m. early Sunday when Santee officials received a report of a crash at Princess Joann Road at Ironwood Avenue.

When Sheriff’s officials arrived, they found Good Samaritans helping two men pulled from the wreckage, suffering from serious injuries.

Two other men were still stuck in the Chrystler, unconscious but breathing. Fire Department paramedics helped free the two men trapped in the severely damaged car.

Two men were taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital and two went to Scripps Mercy Hospital.

None of the four drivers have been identified, but were in their late teens to early 20s.

The crash is under investigation, but officials said the preliminary investigation indicates speed was a factor.

No further information was immediately available.
