38 Homicides in San Diego So Far This Year: SDPD Homicide Lt.

San Diego Police have investigated 38 homicides so far this year, compared to 37 total in 2015.

The number of homicides investigated by San Diego Police so far this year has surpassed the number of homicides all of 2015, according to statistics from SDPD Homicide Lieutenant Manny Del Toro. 

SDPD officers have investigated 38 homicides in their jurisdiction so far this year, passing total number of homicides officers investigated in 2015: 37. 

2016 has been a particularly violent and deadly year so far for San Diego, a city where homicide rates are usually among the lowest across the country’s largest cities, according to numbers released this summer by County officials. 

North County man who died Thursday after he was discovered with multiple stab wounds just north of the U.S- Mexico border marked the 38th homicide for SDPD officers.
