3 Arrests in Home Invasion Near SDSU

San Diego police arrested three men in connection with a home-invasion robbery Sunday near San Diego State University, police said.

The robbery at 6018 Malcolm Drive was reported about 1 p.m. about a mile south of the campus, according to San Diego police Sgt. Art Campa.

Police spotted a car on College Avenue that matched a description of the one used in the burglary and stopped it in SDSU's Parking Lot C off Alvarado Canyon Road, Campa said.

"Nobody was injured and everything was done safely. It was outstanding work by the officers, who were able to locate this car in heavy traffic," said Lt. James Filley of the San Diego Police Department.

He said the residents of the home involved in the robbery would be asked to take part in a police lineup to help identify the suspects and determine whether they were involved.

Police also recovered two firearms and possible loot from the robbery.
