Mylar Balloon Hits Power Lines in Lomita, 2,028 Customers Without Power Sunday Morning

Power was restored by 10 a.m.

More than 2,000 customers were without power in Lomita after a mylar balloon came into contact with power lines around 8:21 a.m. Sunday morning in the 8200 block of San Vicente Street.

The power was restored by 10 a.m. 

The San Diego Police Department, San Diego Fire-Rescue and San Diego Gas &Electric (SDG&E) all responded to the outage and high voltage lines down in the street.

The area was closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
