Winning Mega Millions ticket sold in Coronado is still unclaimed

San Diego may have a new winner in the Dumbest Person category.

California Lottery officials say Monday is the last day to claim a lottery prize worth $200,000. The winning Mega Millions ticket was sold at Avenue Liquor on Orange Avenue in Coronado. It was sold Feb. 4 and hit five winning numbers.

The numbers are 1, 27, 28, 35 and 40 -- it was only missing the Mega number. The ticket expires at 5 p.m. If it's not claimed, the money will go to California schools -- who will hopefully educate students to check their lottery tickets for winning numbers (once they grow up, of course).

Meanwhile, the current Mega Millions jackpot up to $252 million. Mega Millions is played in California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland and eight other states. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday.
