A man will be charged will felony DUI and child endangerment after crashing a car with four-year-old and two-year-old in the back, injuring them, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials said.

The crash happened at 5:24 p.m. Wednesday near E Live Oak Park Road and N Ridge Drive in Fallbrook, officials said.

The driver, a 30-year-old man who has not been identified, crashed the car in a ditch, officials said.

The two young boys suffered minor injuries and were taken to Rady Children's Hospital as a precaution. The driver suffered a laceration to his knees, legs, chest and right foot.

Officers believe the driver was the children's father because they shared the same last name on the report.

CHP officers said the man had an unknown blood-alcohol level, but officers believed it was over the legal limit. He will be charged with felony DUI and child endangerment.

No one else was injured in the crash.
