2 Killed, 1 Injured After Driver Slams into Parked Cars

The fatal collision happened in front of Escondido High School

Two people were killed and another was seriously injured in a suspected DUI crash in Escondido early Saturday morning.

According to police, the fatal collision happened around 2:40 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Broadway, right in front of Escondido High School.

Police said the vehicle was occupied by three people – a driver, a front seat passenger and a back seat passenger.

The car was traveling south on Broadway at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and crashed with into two parked vehicles north of Escuela Glen.

Police said the driver and front passenger died at the scene. The back passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

According to investigators, the collision appears to be DUI-related as multiple beer bottles were found inside the car. The investigation is ongoing.
