A small fire was started in Ramona after a driver hit an electrical transformer and knocked out power for about 1,500 people.
CHP said the crash happened on the 200 block of Main Street just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
Firefighters responded and extinguished the fire but both directions of state Route 78 near 3rd Street were closed due to safety concerns, Cal Fire said. The road was reopened at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
One person receieved minor injuries in the crash.
Power was knocked out along Main Street stretching to Santa ysabel, Cal Fire said. San Diego Gas and Electric was called to the scene and expected to have power restored at around 1:30 a.m.
