A Subway restaurant in Clairemont had to be closed Saturday afternoon after a vehicle slammed into it, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue officials.
The incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. at the Subway located at 4973 Clairemont Dr., officials said.
No injuries were reported but city engineers called to the scene determined the damage was great enough to “red-tag” the business due to safety concerns.
The cause of the accident wasn’t immediately clear and officials weren't sure how many people were inside the building at the time of the incident.
A restaurant employee said the location will be closed over the weekend and may open up again on Monday.
