2011 Holiday Closures

What's closed on Sunday and Monday

City, county, state and federal facilities will be closed Sunday and Monday in observance of Christmas.

In San Diego, the Miramar Landfill will be closed Sunday but will reopen on Monday. City refuse pickup will be one day late during the week.

City libraries, recreation centers and pools will be closed Sunday and Monday.

The municipal golf courses will be open, but the Balboa Park and Torrey Pines courses will close at 3 p.m. on Sunday and 5 p.m. on Monday. The golf administrative offices will be closed both days.
The Mission Trails Regional Park Visitors Center and Chollas Lake will be closed Sunday but reopen Monday.

Parking meters will not be enforced Sunday or Monday.

San Diego County offices will be closed through Monday, and reopen Tuesday.

Chula Vista and El Cajon city offices will be closed until Jan. 3, including libraries and recreation centers.

The Metropolitan Transit System's trolley trains will run every 30 minutes on all lines Sunday and operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday.Most MTS buses will operate a Sunday schedule Sunday and a Saturday schedule on Monday.

There will be no rural bus service or express bus service either day, except for Express Route 20, which will run on a Sunday schedule Sunday and a Saturday schedule on Monday. Christmas schedule information is available online.

The North County Transit District's bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule Sunday, while the Sprinter train will run hourly and Coaster train will have no service. Christmas schedule information can be found here.
