Between the historic bungalows, the wide, sloping lanes and the tree canopy covering Fifth Avenue between Ivy and Hickory streets, the 2013 Ford Flex could have been cruising down virtually any scenic byway in the U.S. on Saturday morning, reports the North County Times.
And that was precisely the point.
"It's 123 Main Street, USA," said Jon Duff, who is leading a team of product photographers working for the Ford Motor Company in downtown Escondido this weekend. "We wanted an upscale neighborhood that looks lush, and where you don't see palm trees and say, ‘California.'"
Duff said the team is tasked with producing the images that will appear in the crossover's new product catalog.
