Woman Pinned Under Own Truck

Bystander pulls woman from under truck in Linda Vista

A woman warming up her truck in a Linda Vista neighborhood got pinned under the vehicle after it rolled down her driveway Monday morning.

The woman was out of her truck when it began to roll from her driveway on the 7000 block of Linda Vista Rd. She attempted to stop it, but was pinned under the left front wheel, according to the San Diego Police Department.

A bystander heard the woman scream, and came to her assistance. Her shoulder was pinned under the car for several seconds before the unidentified man pulled her out.

The woman's daughter told police that the bystander put the car into gear and drove it off her. The bystander was not present when authorities arrived to the scene.

She was transported to the hospital with two collapsed lungs but is expected to be okay, police said.

The truck was found rolled over on its side when authorities arrived to the scene just before 7 am. It was right-side-up shortly after they responded. Police believe the car was in neutral when it began rolling back at about 3 miles per hour.
