ATM Stolen in Chula Vista

Witnesses saw three men speed off in construction truck

A large white truck drove through the wall of a Chula Vista Liquor store.

The three men in the truck stole the store’s ATM and drove off, said Bernard Gonzales, Chula Vista police spokesperson.

Police responded at 4:13 a.m. to the Xpress Food and Liquor alarm system at 640 E Street. When they arrived, the front wall was broken and the ATM was taken.

Two witnesses were present at the time of the theft. They saw the three white men leaving the area rapidly in a beat-up white truck with toolboxes on the sides.

A similar incident occurred on May 20 at approximately 3 a.m., when unknown suspects drove their vehicle through the window of a 1 Percent Checks Cashed store on 1337 Third Ave. The suspects also stole the ATM.
