$1K Reward Offered in Gaslamp Beating

Authorities are offering $1000 to anyone with information to a violent beating in the Gaslamp District

Authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects wanted for felony battery in San Diego's Gaslamp District.

On June 19, officials say a 22-year-old man was punched in the face by an unknown male just at 1:47 a.m. on the 700 block of 5th Avenue. He sustained multiple fractures to his skull and face and bleeding in the brain.

San Diego Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Central Division are looking for the three men captured on video leaving the scene of the incident.

Police say the victim was standing between two female friends and the several men who were harassing them when he was viciously punched in the face.

The crime is one in a string of attacks in the Gaslamp District in recent months.

Authorities are still looking for six people wanted for connection with a 4th of July beating on 6th Street. That victim also sustained similar injuries when he was punched.

Last year, Michael Beaver died after being sucker-punched during a fight as he was leaving the area.

Authorities are asking for your help to identify the three suspects. They are also asking any witnesses to come forward.

If you have any information, call San Diego Police Department’s Central Division at (619) 744-9592 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
