4-Year-Old Boy Struck by Car While Crossing Street in Vista Has Died

A 4-year-old boy struck by a car in Vista has died at the hospital Friday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department (SDSO).

Deputies said a 66-year-old woman struck the child while he was crossing the street, confirmed SDSO Deputy Sean Gallagher. The crash happened around 10:50 a.m. on the 800 block of E. Bobier Drive.

An air ambulance transported the injured child to Rady's Children Hospital, said Gallagher. The boy later died at the hospital.

For several hours, E. Bobier Dr was closed between Calle Jules and Anza Avenue. Schaller said the driver stayed at the scene.

Alcohol or drugs were not believed to be a factor in this fatal crash. No other information was immediately available.
