One person died in a two-car crash in Chollas View Monday afternoon.
The crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of 47th Street and Hilltop Drive enar Gompers Preperatory Academy.
SDPD Sgt. Leonard Flake said a white Toyota Camry driving westbound on Hilltop Drive ran a red light and was broadsided on its driver's side by a red Camry northbound on 47th Street.
Medics performed CPR on the driver of the white Camry, a 62-year-old woman, and transported her to Scripps Mercy Hospital where she was pronounced dead, Sgt. Flake said.
The driver of the red Camry, a 36-year-old woman, was taken to Scripps Mercy with non-life threatining injureies, according to Flake.
Neither driver had any passengers in their car at the time of the crash.
Flake said the intersection would be closed until around 6 p.m.
