1 Killed, 1 Injured in Vista Park Fight

Antonio Canseco, 24, died from stab wounds following a fight at Brengle Terrace Park, according to deputies

One man was killed and another man was injured in a deadly fight at a park in Vista Saturday night, authorities confirmed.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, two men were stabbed during a fight at Brengle Terrace Park at 1200 Vale Terrace Dr. right around 10:30 p.m.

When deputies arrived at the park, both the victims and suspects involved had fled the area.

Deputies spoke to several witnesses at the scene who said someone had been stabbed.

At the same time, Tri-City Hospital reported treating two male patients suffering from stab wounds. Hospital officials said the two victims were dropped off at the hospital by a vehicle that then drove away.

Deputies confirmed that one of the victims, identified as 24-year-old Oceanside resident Antonio Canseco, died from his injuries. The other victim, a 21-year-old man from Oceanside, sustained non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive.

Deputies believe the men were both involved in the fight at the park in Vista, though the investigation is ongoing. They're still searching for the suspect or suspects involved in the fatal stabbing.
