A driver was killed after driving through a red light in Chula Vista Saturday night and crashing into a traffic signal post, Chula Vista police confirmed.
The crash happened just after midnight at the intersection of Olympic Parkway and Windingwalk Street.
The driver sped past traffic stopped at the light, crashing into the post. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Chula Vista Police Traffic Division will be continuing to investigate this incident.
