Trevor Hoffman to Dunk Susan Taylor at Scripps Health Event

As part of a campaign to raise money for its heart care program, Scripps Health has put some very recognizable San Diegans in the dunk tank.

The goal of "The Beat Goes On" was $50,000. If that amount is reached by noon, some lucky employees will get to dunk Scripps CEO Chris Van Gorder and Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla Chief Executive Gary Fybel.

Among those perched above the chilly water will be Susan Taylor, former NBC 7 San Diego news anchor who now works for Scripps as executive director of external affairs.

NBC 7's Sports Director Jim Laslavic agreed to take part as well.

Former Padres pitcher Trevor Hoffman will be the one doing the throwing.

if $100,000 is raised, Taylor will get a shot at dunking Hoffman.
