A massive fire broke out early Tuesday in Stockton, a few miles from the start line of the Tour of California, according to KCRA-TV reports.
The Stockton Fire Department reported an "all hands" fire in downtown Stockton just after 5 a.m.
The pallet yard on E Market Street quickly erupted in flames, prompting a 5-alarm call.
As of 8:30 a.m., the fire was under control with firefighters still on scene to mop up any hot spots.
The start of the Tour of California was scheduled Tuesday at 10:05 a.m. near the Stockton Arena, approximately two miles east of the pallet yard.
