One LAX Terminal Lost Water for Over Three Hours After Main Break

A water main broke under a parking structure at Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday morning, cutting water pressure across the airport, LAX officials said.

Terminal 2 remained without water for over three hours, officials said -- porta-potties were delivered to the terminal's curb. Fire trucks were on-scene to serve as a fire watch.

Water pressure was restored by 1:30 p.m., and facilities except for airport lounges were back to normal, according to an update from LAX.

The Bob Hope Hollywood USO center was without water, officials said. It is next to Parking Structure 2A, where the main broke.

Water pressure problems at other terminals were resolved within an hour of the roughly 10 a.m. break, according to the officials. Flight operations were reported normal at all terminals.

Parking Structure 2A was closed until further notice, the officials said, but anyone with a car inside may claim it and leave the structure for free.
