A campground in Morgan Hill evacuated its guests Monday afternoon shortly after the nearby Uvas Reservoir reached capacity and began to spill over its banks.
The Santa Clara Valley Water District said there is no imminent flood risk downstream.
"They said we had to go and we had to leave," Morgan Hill resident Lambert Lorette said of Thousand Trails Campground.
Water district officials later reported water flow was decreasing. Uvas Reservoir, along with Almaden and Vasona reservoirs, have all reached capacity thanks to recent storms to hit the region.
"Our ground water is looking really good right now," said Colleen Valles with the Santa Clara Valley Water District.
The storm is reducing our chances of drought this summer, but increasing concerns about flooding.
A spokesman for Thousand Trails would not disclose how many guests were evacuated Monday, but said visitors were given the opportunity to relocate to another campground in San Benito County.
