7 Hospitalized, Including Baby, When SUV Slams Into Little Caesars

Seven people were hospitalized, including an infant and a 5-year-old boy, when an SUV slammed into a Little Caesars restaurant in Pacoima on Monday, fire officials said.

The single-vehicle crash took place before 6 p.m. at the pizzeria in the 12700 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A 5-year-old boy suffered critical injuries to his head, Los Angeles police said. Four adults and two children suffered minor injuries.

Three other people were checked out at the scene and released.

Fire officials initially said five people had been hurt.

All of the victims, ages 1 month to 59,  were patrons inside the restaurant, police said.

The cause of the crash was unclear.

The building sustained "minimal" structural damage, fire officials said.
