Where is Bad Elmo?
Sunset District residents fear he's on San Francisco's west side, where he could be living in an automobile.
The man who's dressed up in an Elmo suit and offended park-goers from Fisherman's Wharf to New York City has been spotted near Stern Grove, according to fliers posted in the neighborhood.
Ocean Beach Bulletin reports that fliers with the booking photo of Dan Sandler, 50, have popped up near a park, playground, and community center in the otherwise-quiet area.
Sandler, in the guise of a man-sized "Elmo," has been chased away from notable tourist attractions for outrageous behavior -- and he's also popped up in the Richmond District, "trying to hug kids."
He has a bad rap sheet indeed: he was sentenced to a year in jail for trying to defraud the Girl Scouts, and ran a porn site in Cambodia called "Welcome to Rape Camp."
Police say that if you see Bad Elmo, call police and they'll investigate.
