Ontario Apartment Manager Allegedly Molested Girls in the Complex

Family members of children allegedly abused by a well-liked apartment manager reacted with disgust on Tuesday after his arrest.

According to family members the suspect has lived at an apartment complex in Ontario for at least three years and he was so well liked that residents would invite him and his family to their kids birthday parties.

"I feel disgusted," said Lori, an alleged victim's grandmother. "We trusted him. He was the manager here."

David Esquer, 42, the manager of Grove Apartments since 2012 and the father of a young girl is accused of molesting seven children, including Lori's 10-year-old granddaughter.

Ontario police say the victims range in age from 6 to 12. Five of them are girls and several live at this apartment complex.

Detectives say the investigation began on Sunday when they got a call from a mother who claimed her daughter had been molested.

One mother of an alleged victim said the suspect was so trusted that kids, including her daughter, would sometimes sleep over.

"I didn't suspect nothing. I thought he was a good manager and his wife ... they just seemed like a good couple."

That ended on Sunday when the woman said she called police after her 10-year-old daughter told her what allegedly happened inside the suspect's apartment.

"She's still scared. And we're still here in the apartment and we don't know what to do. And she doesn't want to even be outside with her friends. She just want to be with Mom and Dad."

Detectives won't say why but they believe there could be more victims, going back as far as 10 years ago.

They're hoping those victims will also come forward.

"It's been a nightmare and the trauma that he's caused my daughter and the other girls is unimaginable and I just hope he gets everything that's coming to him," said another alleged victim's mother.

Attempts to reach Esquer and his family were unsuccessful.

Meantime, the owner of the apartment complex said a background check on Esquer before they hired him turned up nothing.
