Missing Tortoise Reunites With Family

Angry Bob, a tortoise found wandering in Alhambra, was reunited with his owners after being missing for nearly a week.

Angry Bob, a turtle found wandering in Alhambra, has been reunited with his owners.

Angry Bob disappeared last Friday. Almost immediately, his owners’ adult daughter, Elaine Lau, reached out to the Alhambra Police Department for help locating the missing turtle, whose name stems from his love of attacking shoes.

The department posted to Facebook, "A resident has requested help in locating her lost, possibly stolen desert tortoise who has turned up missing from her Alhambra home."

The note urged anyone with any information regarding the lost tortoise to contact them immediately.

Yesterday, a man walked into the police station carrying a tortoise he had found near his home, just around the corner from where Angry Bob went missing.

“He’s adorable. We all fell in love with him,” said Sharon Williams, a crime prevention specialist with the police department.

Angry Bob, a naturally slow mover, was discovered just minutes from home. His owners were ecstatic to have their feisty friend back, police said.

Angry Bob has been with the Lau family for about five years.

"When I called my mom to give her the news, I could hear the joy in her voice," Lau said.
